Merguez sausages (not pictured/quickly consumed: sausage #3), Uli (yes, that fantastic stache is REAL and, therefore, stachetastic!), Certificate of Meister Butcher AWESOMENESS
In an especially special Stachetastic Tumble, today I would like to bow down to a fellow of ultimate stachey awesomeness: Mr. Uli Lengenberg, Meister Butcher.
I had the honor of chowing down on one of the absolute, most amazing sausages I have ever eaten in my lifetime (and I do consider myself an aficionado of les saucisses): a Merguez sausage.
This particular sausage is made based upon a traditional Morroccan recipe and is typically enjoyed in North Africa and parts of Europe. Thanks to Uli and his appreciation of sausages, the beef and lamb goodness that is a Merguez graced my mouth with spicy wonder. It was paired with curried ketchup (traditionally enjoyed with sausage in Germany) and equally spiced and wonderful crisp fries (they ran out of rolls).
My accompaniment today, a lass hailing from Germany that also once lived in England, was astounded by the selection of German sausages and an old favorite of hers: English Bangers.
The sausage selections at this little stop in the middle of Pike’s Place Market are nothing short of bursting with flavor. So if you ever find yourself in Seattle, look for the neon sign, step inside the door below it, and take a minute to relax from the commotion of the marketplace by stuffing your face with an Uli’s Famous Sausage.
Cheers to the Meister and look for this sign!
